Atv starts then dies, If you touch the throttle it dies instantly

Atv starts then dies, I took the spark plug out and the tip was black but since it did start I didn't think the spark plug would be the problem. Sometimes it starts normally but then immediately dies. If you start it again, it starts, runs fine for as long as you want to drive it. If it's turned off, and you try to start it, it starts, runs for half a second or a second, then dies. It will do this a varying number of times then start and idle and run fine.
